Events and Outings

Please join Friends of Discovery Park President and members for a 2-hour guided tour of Discovery Park’s Historic District. We’ll explore the history of Fort Lawton and Discovery Park, from the turn of the century to the post WW2 and Cold War eras. We’ll see the old hospital site that is now a growing new forest. We’ll see the site of the original Nike missile command center, the 500 area and where the “antenna farm” grew on the hillside. And explore the legacy of Ambrose Keihl, the original designer of the Parade Grounds. Meet in Discovery Park’s south parking lot at 10am.
