Special Events
In addition to our monthly work parties, FoDP hosts or participates in special events marking significant Discovery Park milestones or ongoing advocacy efforts For example, in 2023, FoDP joined a number or organizations and dignitaries celebrating the Park’s 50th anniversary. And in October 2024, Friends of Discovery Park will marked its half-century birthday.
Monthly Board Meetings
Join us at a monthly Friends of Discovery Park Board Meeting!
As an all-volunteer board, we do this work without compensation. We do it only for the knowledge that we are protecting and preserving Seattle’s greatest greenspace for future generations. Natural spaces like Discovery Park are increasingly rare and desperately needed. We meet monthly, usually on a Saturday morning from 10 a.m. – noon at the Magnolia Public Library meeting room. Consider joining us sometime. You will learn a lot about Discovery Park! And you’ll likely have a lot of fun meeting new people.
For those willing to devote a lot more time and energy to defending Discovery Park, consider joining the Board.
